It was alright until the finishing

I had hoped to finish this off today but things didn't go according to plan. My finishing skills have shone through I'm afraid. It's turned out somewhat a disaster. I stitched my pieces together, turned it inside out, then saw that it was puckering up in some areas. I didn't worry too much because Stacy said this may happen, in her instructions, and that it would resolve itself once you stuffed it. I then started to fill it with stuffing and the puckering wasn't disappearing. Then my stuffing looked a bit lumpy, so I thought about the dried lavender I still had. So I took the stuffing out and replaced it with the lavender. But that didn't go well because I didn't have enough! I went up to the shops to get some more, but they'd run out of it. So feeling a bit disheartened I think I'll put my pinkeep aside for the moment and start on something else. I don't know what yet but let my rummage through my stash and see what jumps out.

I feel your pain--I hate it when something doesn't turn out like I envisioned it. However, I have to be honest here and let you know that your heart looks great and looks very "prim", as was intended! I do understand though, and I am so hard on myself with my own stitching/finishing!

Hmmm, I see what you mean about it not coming out as smooth as you'd envisioned it or as seen in Stacy's photo. Did you try snipping into the seam especially around the curves and doing some trimming of the seams? I'm not sure if that would have helped or not.

You know it does look lovely though. The more I look, the more I just want to hug it and smell it (the lavender) I mean!

Have a great V Day too and weekend! I shall answer your email tomorrow.

I still love it Jane. I wonder if those little pellet things you can get now would even out the wrinkles? And your finishing is always superb.

Happy Valentines to you you and I hope you had a lovely day yesterday.

Hi Jane

Your heart looks great and as the others have mentioned, very prim. I think that is the way it is intended. Well done!!

Jane, your heart looks quite lovely. I know how you feel though. I get an image in my mind of how I want my designs to look after the finishing touches are added and sometimes feel let down when things just don't go the way I want them to. But there is not one thing wrong with your heart. Bet it smells quite yummy!
