Shepherd's Bush ~ Shop Exclusive

I've picked up my needle again and have chosen a Shepherd's Bush kit as my next project. Since I haven't done any of their designs so far this year, I thought I would have a look in my stash and find a quick one of theirs to do. It's a shop exclusive which means you can only buy it direct from them, not through other needlework shops. I bought a number of their exclusive kits a while back, so you may see more of them popping up on my blog in the future.

This one's called Buzz Buzz Bee and comes complete with everything needed to stitch it up, including the Jill Rensel mat for when it's ready to be framed.

It has in the kit this gorgeous little bee charm and of course comes with silk threads.

I started it today and have already finished it! So quick to do. I'll show you some pictures next time.

I also wanted to mention that my eye has completely recovered from the infection. Thank you all for your kind thoughts. It meant a lot to me.

Enjoy your weekend and I hope you get some time to stitch.

A Christmas finish

The weather's turned bad here. We've had more rain since I don't know when, and you'd think it was Winter rather than Summer. So I decided to take the opportunity and finish off Santa's Fill. Once you get into it, it's really a quick one to do. I find I don't get a lot achieved stitching at night, so I love the chance to stitch on a weekend during the daytime.

SB Santa's Fill - shop exclusive kit
Started - 3 December 2008
Finished - 13 December 2008
Fabric - 32ct Irish Creme
Threads - Soie d'Alger silk, Silk Mori, and Threadgatherer handpainted silk
Three Amethyst beads included

So what to stitch next... perhaps I should stick to these small projects for the moment. :) Maybe another Christmas one. I'll hunt around in my stash and see what I have. That in itself is a lot of fun.

Til next time ~ happy stitching all!

I've started something!

Shepherd's Bush - Santa's Fill (shop exclusive kit)

It's been a while since I've been able to show a progress picture, but tonight I started something new. I thought I'd better try to get out of this slump and stitch a small piece that won't take too long. I admit I didn't get much done, but it's something.

Close up of the mat that comes with the kit

This is a small shop exclusive kit from Shepherd's Bush. I ordered direct from them some time ago now and ended up getting quite a few of their exclusive kits. Since Christmas is around the corner I thought I'd look at what Christmas kits I had in my stash. This one looked a quick and easy stitch, which is what I'm needing at the moment.

Attic Needlework

Another little packet arrived in the mail today. How lovely it was wrapped too.

It had the LHN Attic Needlework kit inside that I ordered from Attic Needlework in Arizona a few weeks back. Comes with the chart and Belle Soie silk threads. Once I find out that a designer I like has done an exclusive kit I seem to go on a mission to find out how I can get one. This is the second shop exclusive I have from LHN, with the other being The Busy Needle.

My next project I have already completed. I stitched it last night as I was in the mood to get it done. Will take some photos tomorrow when there's better light and I'll post them up then. Stay tuned...

Another find

I'm like a woman possessed at the moment with my stash.

You never know what you'll find just by looking. Checking out other people's blogs is a great way and is so enjoyable, but on the other hand you discover new things available in the needlework world that you simply have to have. Then you go searching to find out how you can obtain these things. Which leads me to my latest discovery via Katrina's blog. I was having a look at it yesterday and saw a design by LHN which I hadn't seen before. I read on and she mentioned it was an exclusive kit she got from The Busy Needle in Arizona. Apparently Diane Williams of LHN is a local in this area and she has designed an exclusive kit for them. It's called The Busy Needle funnily enough.

I thought it was so cute I couldn't resist, so I've already gone ahead and ordered it. Don't need to wait to decide on these things. Grab it while you can I say!

Better late than never!

Well, here's Millennium Child in 2006! Doesn't really matter what year you do some of these things, does it?

This is a shop exclusive kit from Shepherd's Bush which is only available if you order direct from their shop (makes sense). I did a big buy up last year and ordered a few of their SE kits. Bought their 2005 scissor/fob which I haven't done yet. Another one that won't get done in the actual year it's meant to.

I'm cruising along just nicely with my finishes lately. Things will slow down from now on. It's back to work on Monday, so the normal routine will kick in. Not as much needlework time I'm afraid.

The next piece I'm thinking of doing is SB (who else) Heart Treat Bag for Valentines day. I hope to have it finished by then. Let's just see, shall we? ...
