New Silkweaver Fabrics

I ordered a few pieces of Silkweaver fabrics recently, and they arrived during the week. They were from their Solos releases which they do every week. They're one-of-a-kind fabrics, so are not mass produced. If you want a fabric with that unique look then they're a great idea. Solos don't come with a colour name either, only their count and size.

Silkweaver Fabrics - 40ct Newcastle (golden), 28ct Cashel (light pink), and 40ct Newcastle (deep mocha).

I love to have odd bits of fabric on hand to be put to good use in the future. The best part is not knowing what design you'll use them for, then discovering the perfect pattern for it.

I still haven't decided what to stitch next either. I've not had the chance to look through my stash properly, so I may do that over the weekend sometime.

I would also like to thank those of you who take the time to comment on my needlework. It really means the world to me and I get so much enjoyment from reading them. I know there are a few of you who are new to my blog, and I will try to drop by your blogs in the near future. When I started this blog, I really didn't expect to have so many people 'dropping by'. Don't get me wrong, I am happy you do, and you're most welcome. Please know that I appreciate your company and thank you so very much for you thoughtfulness.

Happy stitching everyone, and happy weekend!

Un ange passe....

OK, now that I've left you in suspense about my next start, I will finally show you what it is. It's from the French designer C Mon Monde and it's one of their free charts called Un ange passe.... I received the chart in with my order last year from The Thread Basket. It was only recently that I got it out and thought how nice it was. Then the next day I saw on Nancy's blog that she'd just completed it. I loved the look of it and the fact that she'd done it on a green fabric. So my mind went into overdrive about how I could stitch this up.

I've decided to use a Silkweaver fabric called Spring Garden which is a 28ct. I'll probably do it over 1 thread to give it a delicate look, and I've changed a few of the threads to include some Crescent Colours and a Gentle Art, but basically sticking to the same colour theme.

C Mon Monde - Un ange passe.... kitted

I'll also show you the last bits from my order through The Silver Needle. There's a brass measuring stick, 2008 Ornaments magazine from Just Cross Stitch, a pointed linen ornament pillow, a container of black pins, 32ct Flax linen, a crystal nail file, a couple of buttons, a pair of Putford scissors, and a few DMC threads.

This time of year I usually go a bit wild with my stash ordering. I've still got my birthday order to put in with Needlecraft Corner (you get a discount with them during your birthday month). The Rocking Horse just had a 20% off sale that I placed an order with, so I should receive that in a week or so. Then whatever I don't get this time, I'll wait for Stitching Bits and Bobs to have their next sale.

Can I just say before I go, thank you to those who wished me a happy birthday. It's so kind of you and much appreciated. :)

Hopefully my next post will have a new start to show you. Til then... happy stitching!

Silkweaver fabrics

I received another lovely bit of stash in the mail today. This time it's a bundle of Silkweaver fabrics. I ordered them soon after I arrived back from my holiday, when I was craving a stash order.:) There's an assortment of colours and I'm sure they'll be put to good use in time.

Fabrics from top to bottom ~ Porcelain 36ct Edinburgh, Spring Garden 28ct Cashel, Rose Petals 28ct Lugana, Caribbean 28ct Cashel, Blush 28ct Cashel, Days Gone By 28ct Cashel, Antique Gold 32ct Belfast, Chocolate 28ct Lugana, Days Gone By 32ct Belfast, and Purely Primitive 32ct Belfast.

I just want to thank everyone for their thoughts about what I should do with Autumn Blessings. I've been thinking about it and the main thing I'm realising is if I want to pull out the one over one stitching, it's going to be tough. What I'll do is leave the wording for the moment and continue with the rest of the pattern. I'll probably end up sticking with the Dried Pink Roses, as I'm sure there'll be enough purple throughout the design anyway. I've also got the Jill Rensel mat for it so as long as it suits the colours in that, it should be fine.

I'm pretty busy with life at the moment so I'm not sure when I'll have a progress picture to show you, but hopefully one will be not too far off. I'm so enjoying seeing what everyone else is doing on their blogs. You're all so very talented.

Until next time...

Silkweaver fabric stash

Today I got home from work and opened up the mail box to find a lovely package from Silkweaver. It contained a number of pieces of fabric I bought off their eBay site. I'm very happy with the colours too.

SILKWEAVER fabrics bought through their eBay site - 28ct Lugana New Khaki, 28ct Lugana Mushroom, 32ct Belfast Dirty Linen, 32ct Belfast Heritage Linen, and 32ct Blefast Dark Tan Linen. Package received in the mail 22 April 2008.

I'm starting to build quite a stash of fabric now. It's great to have pieces on hand that you know will suit certain projects. Plus I love getting fabrics from the US because there's so much more variety than what we get out here.

I haven't started another project yet. We've got a long weekend coming up so I hope to do some stitching then. I plan to do a small piece which should stitch up in a day (I think), so I thought I would keep it a secret as there won't be any progress pics.

Sometimes it's hard to think of what to do next, but then something will usually jump out and say 'pick me!'. I have plenty of designs that I would love to do. Unfortunately they can't all be done at the same time, as much as I would like them to. :)
