Trying to get back to it

I was in two minds as to whether to keep going with Strawberry House, or to pick up something new. I've decided to stick with it and try to finish it off. I sat down yesterday and managed to get most of the house completed.

Strawberry House - 27 September 2009

Lately I've been busy over the weekends and tired during the week after I get home from work. So my needlework hasn't taken priority, unfortunately. I guess we all go through different stages with our stitching.

I'm still waiting for some lovely weather to come my way. This past weekend was like going back to the depths of Winter. Cold temperatures, and rain like we haven't seen in such a long time. A large part of Australia has been in a drought for the past decade, we're on water restrictions, and our dams are at extremely low levels (especially in Victoria). So any sign of rain is good, but the cold temperatures I hate. Oh to live in a warmer climate - what a dreamer I am. :)

Jane, come visit us in Virginia - tho' it is Fall, we are still having Summer temperatures. The leaves are just beginning to cover the ground. You'll have to stitch some spring or summer pieces to keep your mind occupied away from the cold.

Strawberry House is beautiful. What program do you use to create your photo collages in?

Enjoy your day.

Beautiful progress on Strawberry House. I love the colors! We all have hills and valleys in our stitching. I've been very slow lately. So many things to work on...so very little time. I hope that changes soon...

I love your Strawberry House (as well as everything else you do). Such lovely colours and photos. I am going through a bit of a slump I think we all do.

You'll laugh but living in a warm country is sometimes too...warm!!!!
But I hate cold too and prefer the climate from Caracas than it from Belgium...
Your Straberry House progress nicely...
PS: I repeat:sorry for my bad english...

Hello, Miss Jane! I've been having a nice time today looking around your blog a bit! I especially liked the beaded crown you customized for "queen bee" and also your woolly winter...I hadn't seen such a narrow band sampler before, but I DO certainly like it. I also enjoyed how you photograph (and label!) your stash fabric...very informative. I was also admiring your beautiful photography, and was shocked to see that you use (only) a point 'n shoot! Wow!

Very nice blog; am gladly adding it to my reader. :D

It's getting cold here too - although we're going to get colder and you're going to get warmer - hopefully soon.

Lovely stitching and pictures as always.

Pleased that you have kept going with 'Strawberry House' as it really is lovely - look forward to seeing it completed. I looked at that one myself a couple of weeks ago, but I'd already bought too much!!!! :0)

I agree we all go through different periods with our stitching. Sometimes if I don't feel like stitching, I'll just say, well, I'll stitch one line, and the next thing I know I've stitched a bunch. As with many things, sometimes it's all about just getting started and the rest falls into place. Strawberry House looks great!

It is good, Jane that you have decided to finish "Strawberry House". This design is too good to leave it. Good weather will soon return to you. And here only all begins. Dampness, rains, a wind :о(...

Cari, thanks for the invite. Sounds enticing, though I'm praying good weather is just around the corner. The program I use for my collages is Picasa - I have a link in my sidebar in the 'Links' section below my Followers.

Thanks to everyone else for your comments also!
