A rose by name

I'm still going strong with French Heart and loving it. Last night I did a little more including over one with the word 'rose'. Other stitches done were Padded Scotch Stitch underneath, and to the left another border in a Hen's Foot stitch. I'm really enjoying all the different stitches in this design. Some I have done before and others are new to me.

French Heart - 15 January 2009

I think Shepherd's Bush kits are fantastic as they include everything needed to complete the design. No hunting around shops or the Internet to find the right thread or fabric required, it's all ready to go. They also include the cutest thread card to hold all the threads for the pattern your working on. It's only made of thin cardboard but it has printed on top a motif with their popular designs - moon, stars, flower, sheep, and heart. Underneath this is their name and to finish it off it's cut into the shape of a heart. There's usually ample holes for all your thread colours, and somehow makes your kit feel complete. Even their smaller kits include this thread card. The only thing that changes with each kit is the colour of the motif on the card.

Shepherd's Bush Thread Card - included with every kit

Just thought I'd entice your appetite a little and let you know that I have received some new stash in the mail. I'll let you hang on for my next post to find out what I got!

It's looking so fab! I am now a convert to Shepherd's Bush kits and have my eye on quite a few! I am stitching on Queen Sheep right now, and yes, I agree. I love the fact that everything is included in the kit, and I love the thread holders as well. And I now don't want to stitch with anything BUT silk!

I really like the SB kits too but I was disappointed with my last one. There didn't seem to be enough of one color of silk and I couldn't even determine what it was, so I ended up substituting with something else. The thread didn't even seem to be the right color (too light). I tend to be a lazy stitcher and having it all ready to go is great. This last experience won't sway me from buying other SB kits though.

Heart's Content has some nice kits too.

Your close up photos of your stitching are great!

You are getting more people hooked on SB, you know that don't you Jane? I know you are doing a happy dance as you read this I'm sure!

Yes the kits are wonderful and I must say stitching SB kits is an entirely new and different and fun experience for me.

I'm glad you are stitching this one as I have to admit I feel a bit intimidated by all the new (to me) stitches. One day, when I 'grow up' I may be able to tackle this challenge! ;-)

It's looking beautiful and your photos are so pretty! I love SB kits too, I'm stitching Come Tarry, but it's been weeks now since I last stitched it. The thread cards are lovely, it makes stitching even more fun when you have beautiful little things like this around while stitching :)
